Robertson Geo Ltd: Testimonial

Disgrifiad o’r Cwmni

Robertson Geo manufacture high‐performance borehole camera probes that can be used to illuminate and record images from within air or water‐filled deep subsurface boreholes. The camera system features a camera surrounded by six white light LEDs used for illumination of the borehole to enable image capture on video by the camera.

“The CPE team were able to offer us a level of specialist expertise that we simply would not have access to “in‐house”. Results were offered through review meetings and further work was progressively staged after these reviews. This process streamlined the Project very effectively and has provided an engineering solution that may have taken several iterative steps had we not had this additional expertise to hand. The CPE team were enthusiastic and were able to communicate with us at exactly the right level to extract the information they needed to assist us. We are very pleased with the project outcome.”

Paul Worthington, Engineering & Development Manager, Robertson Geo Ltd

It has been found that after the camera system has been submerged in water found in a borehole, that an image flare forms in the corners of the recorded image. Robertson Geo collaborated with CPE to help understand the source of this image flare and develop a method by which it could be removed from the recorded image.

Together, CPE and Robertson Geo explored the source of the image flare and investigated several solutions to removing it. The result of the collaborative project led to an easily implemented solution in which the windows of the camera system are replaced with a window with an anti‐reflection coating. If implemented successfully, the proposed solution of an AR coated window would remove the image flare, whilst being easily integrated into the current camera manufacturing process.
